Dr. Avula has been practicing internal medicine since 1995. He received his medical degree from Al Ameen Medical College, Bijapur, India. His residency and fellowship was earned at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, New York. Dr. Avula is board certified in Internal Medicine. He is one of the very few fellowship trained Geriatricians in the area.

Dr. Avula moved to Dothan, AL in 2008 to join Dothan Medical Associates, PC.

He is married to Sireesha and they have two sons, Ganesh and Namish.
